Armed Forces Connection Links Veterans, Employers

Monday, January 29th, 2007

Bedford, NH - Each year more than 225,000 service members separate from the military. An A.I.M. member company, American Resource Staffing (ARS), has established Armed Forces Connection to help these veterans and their spouses (nearly half are married) transition to the civilian workforce. With training and experience in many fields – healthcare, logistics, administration, electrical/mechanical repair, finance, engineering, operations management, among others – as well as the reliability and resilience associated with military service, these individuals are desirable employees for a range of industries.

Armed Forces Connection (AFC) offers a career placement Website as well as resources for continuing education and for financing and finding a home. The Website (www.armedforcesconnection.com) is a resourse for employers who “are seeking employees with core values like dedication and leadership, not to mention security clearances,” says Shelby Russell, the program’s executive director. AFC may also be reached by telephone at 877-232-5027.

ARS offers a range of employment services to employers, including staffing, risk management, workforce management, and training and safety services. Headquartered in Bedford, NH, it has locations in Chelsea, Lawrence, Lowell, Lynn, Wakefield, and several New Hampshire communities.
